Tra i  Comuni Virtuosi  merita una menzione particolare  Capannori , in provincia di Lucca, il primo in Italia ad intraprendere quel vantaggioso percorso che ha come meta i  rifiuti zero , obiettivo fissato al 2020. La scomparsa dei cassonetti dal territorio comunale è stata sostituita dalla  raccolta porta a porta  e dalla distribuzione del materiale per la  raccolta differenziata  ai cittadini. Tutti i rifiuti raccolti, dall’organico alla carta, vengono destinati a nuovi usi ed al  riciclo .

Il latte è alla  spina  così come i detersivi, l’acqua di sorgente, le  sagre  sono eco e la  sostenibilità  coinvolge incessantemente i cittadini in nuove sfide ed obiettivi che costano pochi sacrifici ed assicurano molteplici vantaggi.

Di recente il Comune ha addirittura scritto alla  Lavazza  per chiedere di  ripensare  le  capsule disposable coffee so that they are recyclable .
